Jan! this happened to me and Debbie yesterday in San Francisco! A cab driver kept chatting with us in his native language (I think Vietnamese) and we were making faces at eachother like, "this guy is nuts!!!" Turns out he was conversing into a little microphone on a string hanging down from his ear.
Rudeness! But, not insanity. . .
