CSI OKC
Stupid Criminal Edition
I live on a block where the neighbors all know and enjoy each other. We get together for dinners, weddings, graduations, Christmas and things in between. We are unusually close.

In other words, don't mess with us.

Five teenagers thought today around 5:00 might be a good time to rob a home in our neighborhood. This particular neighbor is new to the 'hood and has two teenaged daughters. They are gone this weekend. We suspect the robbers knew they would be gone. They didn't do their homework, though.

We had a neighborhood dinner tonight at. . . 5:00. At 5:00 we all emerged from our homes just in time to see two of the criminals leaving the home and three of the criminals parked at the end of the street. Unfortunately, I missed the scene by a few minutes, but I would have loved to see the look on their faces when they emerged and saw the sidewalks full of interested onlookers! The police were summoned immediately and the helicopters arrived first. As we all stood there in the street, the patrol cars arrived and got the best descriptions ever given. Those guys were toast.

As we ate dinner, the police rounded up all five suspects (and the stolen goods) and called some of us away from the dinner table to identify them. It was glorious.

And dinner was good, too.

Assuming, as it's probably useful to do, that most of these thuglets have been doing lots of this sort of thing for some time now, the local crime rate should drop precipitously for the unfortunately-brief period that they're behind bars.
