This is me in Bloomington, Indiana. I'm looking in the kitchen door at my mom, who found me cute enough to take a photo. I have to say this is one my favorite photos of me.

Jan, I think you are being too hard on yourself, sometimes you attract more bees with honey than by hitting them over the head with a meaty textbook!!! I love reading your blog - your love for God and your family and your commitment to both is evident and an inspiration to those of us in Oz. Yes you could get into heavier discussions once in a while but like everyday life if thats all you talked about no one would be listening. I'm all for a life lesson or discussion but give me candy as well. As for Anne and her baptism discussion - this is from a deep rooted fear of water and all things involved in personal hygiene Anne just have a shower and stop blaming the Holy Spirit for not immersing yourself!! I thought it was you commenting on these blogs. I think it is so cool that you are getting to know my okie friend jan, via the computer. It would be awesome to all be in the same room together one day. You will see comments from Penny from time to time too and she is another of my friends that I want to spend time with. Take note of her comments she is very funny.
I tried to call you today, around 9am your time. I need to have some of your humour and seriousness one on one.
I ended up calling me udda cousin Kerry and Sandy and at the mention of my birthday party I started with the weeping so couldnt carry on the conversations. I have put off calling you all because I knew I couldnt talk about all you did for me in Oz without a massive weep. (thus the lack of speech at the party. I knew I wouldnt keep it together!) Now adding on the amazing indulgance by the Okie girls I am a complete mess. I cant even think about the party without tears welling. The thought of leaving this is a knife thru my fragile heart. I know I have a home base that I will see the aussies on an almost yearly basis.....but the okies....it becomes a goodbye and I feel myself retreating to prevent the difficulties of the goodbye.
I need a good Kerry talking to. YOu have my email right? Jan will yell at me for taking up her blog space!!!!! AA

I have pictures of taken in the hall way of the quad where you lived with your parents while in Bloomington. These were probably taken by Ed when he and friends would take you for ice cream.
